FAQ's

We're more comfortable answering Jiu Jitsu technique questions but we'll leave that to our athletes! We have tried our best to include answers to the most common questions we receive on this page but, if we missed something, or if you have a particular question that isn't answered here, feel free to reach out by email oss@coffeekimuras.com

Products

Where are they made, what are they made of and how to take care of them...

Where are your products made?

Our products are all designed in Ireland and manufactured in different countries around the world including China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Vietnam. Some are even finished off here in Ireland!

Each item includes the country of manufacture on the neck label. If you have a question about a particular product, feel free to reach out to us.

What are your products made from?

We use a unique blend of materials in each of our products to ensure they are among the highest quality, longest-lasting and hardest-wearing on the market. These are tough sports that we participate in and our gear has to match that.

How do I know what size to order?

Every product has a size chart on the product page. While our gi's are consistent with industry sizing, our rashguards run on the tight side so if you rather a loose fit, or tend to fall between sizes, we suggest ordering a size up.

You can also find all size charts here.

What is the best way to take care of my new C&K products?

Our "tight" products are made from a blend of polyester and spandex. We have gone through numerous samples of different materials, testing them ourselves on the mats to bring you the best product possible. In order to maximise the lifetime of your C&K products, we recommend:

  1. Avoiding velcro. Velcro can cause piling, which is essentially pulling the polyester fibres out of the product, significantly reducing the look, feel and lifetime of your product. Do not wash your rashguard or spats alongside shorts with velcro closures. Our Signature Grappling Shorts have a type of velcro closure that is a little more polyester-friendly, but we still recommend washing separately.
  2. Washing inside a delicates net will help reduce the impact of your washing machine drum on the product fibres.
  3. Loose threads can appear through use on the mats. Snip off to prevent damage from multiplying.
  4. Our products include a care label but, as a general rule, wash on low temperature (~30°C/85°F) with like colours and allow to hang dry away from sunlight and direct heat.
How do you test your products?

We test each and every product ourselves in tough, relentless and sweaty rounds on the mats to ensure they are up to standard and will last longer than your adrenaline-dumping gas tank!

Can I order a custom product?

Of course! If you would like to enquire about a custom product, either for yourself, your team or your academy, feel free to drop us a message here and we'll get back to you with all the information you need.

I have a cool idea for a C&K product, can I submit it?

Yes, of course! The only way to progress in Jiu Jitsu is through collaboration. We are open to collaborating with our loyal customers on bringing their idea and design to life. Send an email to oss@coffeekimuras.com with your idea and some background to you. We look forward to seeing your designs!
